Cochrane-Fountain City High School freshman Kaleb Krzyszton has been selected to play at Carnegie Hall in New York City on February 22, 2015. Krzyszton earned his position with the American High School Honors Band through a nomination and audition process. This is a huge honor, as Krzyszton will play with 65 youth from all over the U.S., Canada, and select international schools. He will play Euphonium under maestro Sharon Lavery in the Honors Band. Krzyszton is preparing for the performance with independent practice and dedication to learn the challenging music selections. The C-FC music department is hosting a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Thursday, January 8, 2015, to help financially support Krzyszton’s participation at Carnegie Hall. The dinner will be at the C-FC School prior to the boys basketball game against Alma-Pepin. The meal will be served from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and includes spaghetti, bread, salad, beverage, and dessert. Tickets are $7 for adults (ages 13 and over) and $4 for children (ages 12 and under). Tickets may be purchased from Krzyszton’s family or the main office at C-FC and will be available at the door. For attendees’ dining pleasure, entertainment will be provided by C-FC music students between 6 p.m. and7:30 p.m.
