Minnesota Marine Art Museum (MMAM) leaders, supporters, members and volunteers believe that great art experiences are for everyone, and that art can be a great way for families to bond. In January, the MMAM will host two of its popular family programs – Toddler Tuesday and Winter Art-Venture.
On Tuesday, January 13, from 10:30 a.m. to noon is Toddler Tuesday, a monthly program for the museum’s youngest visitors. Toddler Tuesdays engage families with toddler-aged children in simple art projects, play, and viewing artworks in the MMAM’s galleries. The cost of the program is only $2 per child and parents and members are free. No registration is required and participants can come and go as they please.
On Saturday, January 27, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. is Winter Art-Venture, a program for families with children ages six and up. During the program, attendees will look at a few pieces of art in the galleries for inspiration and then pull out the art supplies to create. A parent is welcome to participate, too. This program is free thanks to support from the Mid West Music Fest. Registration is required by calling 507-474-6626.
Gallery and MMAM Store hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. More information about the museum is available at www.mmam.org.
