Great River Shakespeare Festival and Island City Brewing Company will host “Bard. Beer. Birthday,” a social event open to the public to celebrate William Shakespeare’s birthday and recognize GRSF volunteers this Sunday, April 23, at 3 p.m. The event will take place at Island City Brewing, located at 65 East Front Street, Winona, and will include music, refreshments, and recognition of the Friends of Will.
The event will feature recognition of the Friends of Will (GRSF’s volunteers), a taste of Artistic Director Doug Scholz-Carlson’s TEDx Talk, live music, refreshments, and cash bar.
Attendees will have an opportunity to discuss the upcoming season with GRSF staff, patronize a new Winona business, and enjoy live entertainment. Great River Shakespeare Festival organizers are looking forward to showing gratitude for the hard work of the Friends of Will. Shakespeare’s birthday is also one of GRSF’s last pre-season events before company members begin arriving in Winona in early May. By May 9, rehearsals will begin and the season will kick into high gear! To purchase tickets or season passes, visit grsf.org, call 507-474-7900, or stop in the GRSF Box Office during regular business hours.
