On Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 7 p.m., the Buffalo County Historical Society will host Executive Director Kelly J. Herold for a talk about Buffalo County’s actions during the years leading up to the U.S. entry into World War I. This is the first in a four-part series commemorating the centennial anniversary of World War I with another program this fall and two programs in 2018. In this program, Herold will focus on the events leading up to when President Wilson asked for the declaration of war. The program will take place at the Mondovi Veteran’s Center Hall, 239 West Hudson Street, in Mondovi, Wis. The program begins at 7 p.m. and the bar will be open for those who would like to have a drink or snacks.
