The Minnesota Orchestra, led by assistant conductor Roderick Cox, will present a free outdoor pops concert at Lake Park on July 6 to open the 2017 Minnesota Beethoven Festival. The concert begins at 8 p.m. and concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets and enjoy a fun and festive musical celebration featuring the music of Tchaikovsky, John Williams, and more.
The Minnesota Beethoven Festival continues through July 23 with performances by Manhattan Chamber Players, violinist Joshua Bell and pianist Sam Haywood, cellist David Finckel and pianist Wu Han, Anderson & Roe Piano Duo, Dale Warland and the Festival Chorale, Dover Quartet, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and Boston Brass. The festival also continues its partnership with Classical Minnesota Public Radio, featuring live broadcasts of concerts with David Finckel and Wu Han, Anderson & Roe Piano Duo, Dover Quartet, and the Sunday performance of Dale Warland and the Festival Chorale.
