Speaking Truth to Power
• October 21, 2017, 7:30 p.m., Zumbro Lutheran Church

Central Lutheran Church, Winona
Five hundred years ago this fall, Martin Luther risked his life to speak truth to power. So many others — Sir Thomas More, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Susan B Anthony — have taken similar courageous stands for integrity. Through inspiring readings by Great River Shakespeare Festival actors, with the collaboration of soloists Roy Heilman and Alan Dunbar, and accompanied by chamber orchestra, the Choral Arts Ensemble will honor these bold and principled voices. Choral selections will vary widely — from Britten’s “Cantata Misericordium,” a setting of the Good Samaritan story, to U2’s “MLK” as arranged for the King’s Singers.
