Cochrane-Fountain City musicians perform at Dairyland Conference Honors Concert


Cochrane-Fountain City Honors Band includes Michael Bissen, freshman, trumpet; Jacob Callahan, junior, tenor sax.; Kyra Dascher, junior, flute; Noah Ehlenfeldt, junior, trumpet; Simon Geiger-Schutz, senior, tuba; Daniel Krause, junior, trombone; Kaleb Krzyszton, senior, euphonium; Philip Krzyszton, freshman, trombone; Alex Rothering, freshman, alto sax.; Eleana Ruehmann, junior, flute; and Rosalyn Thompson, freshman, flute.

Outstanding musicians across the Dairyland Conference joined together for their annual honors band and choir on November 7 and 11, performing at Whitehall High School on the evening of November 11 to a full house of family and guests. Cochrane-Fountain City had 11 band students and nine choir students accepted to the event.

The choir clinician was Karen Wilkerson from the vocal faculty at St. Olaf college in Northfield, Minn. The band clinician was Dr. Pamelo Bustos from the instrumental faculty at UW-Superior in Superior, Wis.

The choir had 113 members and the band had 93 members. Schools represented included Alma, Augusta, Blair-Taylor, Cochrane-Fountain City, Eleva-Strum, Gilmanton, Independence, Alma Center Lincoln, Melrose-Mindoro, Pepin, and Whitehall.
