The Fountain City River Players and the city of Fountain City announce the selection of their 29th annual summer musical, “Hello, Dolly!,” with book by Michael Stewart and music and lyrics by Jerry Herman.
The romantic musical comedy will be directed by Dave Seaburg and Ian Schultz, choreographed by Jess Dienger, and play on the Judee Brone Memorial Stage in Fountain City on July 25-29, 2018. Seaburg, who will step up as director after appearing last summer as Mr. Mushnik in “Little Shop of Horrors,” said, “There is so much talent, passion, and heart in this show! I am ready to make magical memories for the cast, crew, and our audience. We will tell one of the greatest love stories of the musical theater.”
“Hello, Dolly!,” the blockbuster Broadway hit, bursts with humor, romance, high-energy dancing, and some of the greatest songs in musical theater history: “Put On Your Sunday Clothes,” “Ribbons Down My Back,” “Before the Parade Passes By,” and of course “Hello, Dolly!” to name a few. The comic exploits of Dolly Gallagher-Levi, turn-of-the-century matchmaker and “woman who arranges things,” are certain to thrill and entertain all.
Additional information, including audition dates, will be announced at a later time.
