Old Main offers music galore

(2/28/2018)

Pianist Dr. Pamela Kelly has invited vocalist Jenna Schiewer and other guests to give a classical concert at Old Main in Galesville on Saturday, March 3, at 7:30 p.m. This concert will be a fundraiser to support the student segment of the “Gale Star” program at Old Main, which makes the venue and stipends available to university students as they prepare for recitals and careers. Pianist Dr. Eric Brisson of Winona State University had been scheduled to perform this concert; however, he has become incapacitated with a broken arm. The response of university faculty and students is growing in response to this program of featuring the fine music being cultivated in regional universities.

Admission is $10 for adults, and $5 for college students. Performances are free to people in high school and younger.

The Creek Chicks will perform for Old Main’s annual Irish Holiday on March 17 at 6:00 p.m. The evening begins with a dinner of corned beef or ham, cabbage, potatoes, dessert and drink followed by the concert. Tickets are $25 and they are on sale at Galesville’s Common Market. Call 608-582-4442
