One Way Theatre, a home school drama group from Onalaska, will bring a performance of “The Elevator Family” by Douglas Evans to Old Main in Galesville on Friday, May 4, at 6 p.m., and on Saturday, May 5, at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. This hilarious comedy starring kids from ages six to 14 is about the Wilson family who goes on vacation in San Francisco, Calif., and ends up spending four fun-filled days living in the hotel elevator because the hotel is full. Water, Winona, Whitney and Winslow Wilson meet and impact the lives of various hotel personnel and guests, and they even solve a mystery! Watch out for the hippie kidnappers, a lonely salesman of fads and a sleepy night watchman in this 60-minute flashback to the 1970s that certainly has its ups and downs! Director Joanna Heram and stage manager Ashley Brown have formed One Way Theater to give home-schooled children experiences in high-quality theater.
Fellowship and treats will follow. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for college students, and free for high schoolers and younger.
To find Old Main turn south from Ridge Avenue at 12th Street, then right on College Avenue. The stone building is lighted; signs will be posted.
