The WINONArts series of free creative events is excited to present the second of many outdoor movies in their Movies (Under The) Stars series with the latest Academy Award winning animated film from Pixar in Sinclair Park on Cinco De Mayo, Saturday, May 5, at 8:30 p.m., at Sinclair Park, 310 East Broadway.
Come see the Best Animated Feature Oscar at this year’s Academy Awards (as well as Best Song). It is the latest film released by the renowned Pixar Studios. The Movies (Under The) Stars films will all be free, and popcorn is provided.
Upcoming movies in the Movies (Under The) Stars series includes the return of the drive-in movies, where Lakeview partners to show the latest family-favorite, live-action film from the Disney Studios in Lake Park right across Sarnia Street from the drive in. Come on July 28 to see the story of a beautiful girl and a reclusive beast. Lakeview will have special concession deals throughout the evening. It will also show the live-action version of the Rudyard Kipling children’s book centered on Mowgli and his jungle friends on Saturday, June 16, in Bluff View Park — the closest “jungle.”
The Cinco de Mayo film is a wonderful animated musical story for all ages centered on a young Mexican boy, Miguel. Despite his family’s generations-old ban on music, young Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead. After meeting a charming trickster named Héctor, the two new friends embark on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.
See you at the Movies (Under The) Stars! The WINONArts Series offers 25 free creative events, held throughout the year in various municipal parks and venues throughout Winona. WINONArts is possible thanks to founding sponsorships from the Winona Community Foundation, Winona National Bank, and Merchants Bank.
