Julyda, a Minneapolis-based pop-rock band featuring lead singer Julida Alter on cello and Sean Alter on guitar, will be performing at the Acoustic Café on Saturday, July 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. Layered guitar intertwined with deep, cello lines support the intricate and honest vocals. Julyda is an additional project from the bigger six-member group, The Blacksmith’s Daughters. The band will be performing original music from their newest album, “Do You Hear Me,” released earlier this summer, as well as covers from The La’s, Journey, and Metric, to name a few. Their music questions what it means to be human by diving deeper into wants and desires, while contrasting that with the monotony that can be daily life.
