The Winona Winhawk girls swimming and diving program had a remarkable day as it finished in a tie for second place at the Richfield Invite. This was indicative of the hard work the girls have been putting into their season and is only a prequel as to what’s to come!

Delano came in in first with 745; second was a tie between Winona and Richfield, 436; fourth went to Owatonna, 251; fifth was Eveleth-Gilbert, 232; sixth went to Robbinsdale-Cooper, 134.5; and in seventh was Minnehaha Academy, 75.7.

The 200 freestyle relay saw the Winhawks place seventh and 10th; however, there was also a third relay that should have placed eighth, but it is unknown as of now why this didn’t happen. There were many great performances at this meet, especially as a few top athletes were missing due to ACT testing that day, along with a few injuries. What a great day to be part of the Winhawk girls swim and dive program!
