Tenor Corey Pierce will appear with pianist Dr. Pamela Kelly at Old Main in Galesville on Sunday, November 18, at 3 p.m. He is completing his studies for degrees in music education and vocal performance in the studio of Dr. Terence Kelly at UW-La Crosse. Pierce desires to influence the lives of young people through music, and has excelled as a performer and in roles of leadership. Dr. Pamela Kelly continues to enjoy her career as a performing artist and teacher. The art song and aria recital will feature works by nine master composers.
Pierce’s passion for music can be seen through the active roles he’s taken on throughout his life. Some of those roles include serving as UWL’s Concert Choir president, performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City with the concert choir, Concert Choir chorister (elected) for the year 2017-2018, and performing at UWL’s Honors Recital 2016-2018 as a selection. He continues to take leadership roles in advocating for music education and helps to prepare youth for excellence and success.
The Gale Star program at Old Main features students like Pierce to broaden community awareness of the fine musicians who are completing their studies at surrounding universities. Tickets will be available at the door for $10 for adults, $5 for college students, and free for high school students and younger.
