The Winona Arts Center (WAC) announces its 25th annual Holiday Sale and festivities on Saturday, December 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 228 East Fifth Street in Winona. The gallery upstairs will include fine arts and crafts for sale by eight area artists. Activities downstairs include Christmas themed readings, holiday music, and offerings by Renaissance Breads & Pastries Coffeehouse. The entertainment is free and open to the public.
The artists include: Margarita Baumann, knitted and crocheted fiber works; wearable items, quilts and toys; Kenneth Critzman, turned wood bowls; Gary Flynn, lighted, carved found wood sculptures; Marilyn Klinkner, earthenware cups and bowls, tile boxes, fabric collages; Michelle Maslowski, stoneware pottery, plates, mugs, soup and serving bowls, baking dishes; John Meyer, watercolors; Bob and Jackie Onsrud, handcrafted wooden cribbage boards, locks, keepsake boxes, music stands and more; and Linda Riddle, jewelry.
Renaissance Breads & Pastries Coffeehouse Morning menu includes: scones, coffee, tea, juice and soda. Lunch includes: vegetarian soup, assorted breads, cookies, coffee, tea, juice and soda.
• 10-10:20 a.m.: Reading by Ray Felton of “A Christmas Memory” by Truman Capote. A special Christmas adventure story he shares with a beloved cousin before they part company.
11-11:30 a.m.: The Winona Fiddlers directed by Betsy Neil.
Noon-12:45 p.m.: The Tri-State Accordion Club directed by Ron Reimer.
• 1:15-2 p.m.: The Cheezland Uke Band.
• 2:30-3:15 p.m.: Reading by Taff Roberts of “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” by Dylan Thomas — a short story about the recollection of a boy’s memories about Christmas day.
