The Old Main performing arts committee will serve a buttermilk pancake and sausage brunch on Sunday, January 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to raise funding to support student stipends for the Gale Star program at Old Main in Galesville. The proceeds will help pay the stipend given to G-E-T Music Boosters when Red Hawk musicians perform their concert and to university students who perform at Old Main. G-E-T alumni Clara Byom and Autumn Schacherl have been among the students to receive these stipends. Out-of-town students from nearby universities have experienced the joy of performing at Old Main and receiving help to further their studies.
This student program helps to connect young people and universities with Old Main. The suggested donation is $6 per plate, which includes pancakes, sausage, applesauce, and a beverage (milk, juice or coffee). Parents decide the donation for children. Old Main is at the south end of 12th Street; turn right on College Avenue. Signs to the historic Gale College campus are posted. Brunch will be served on the first floor.
