January 26

The Winona League of Women Voters and the Winona County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council will be hosting the annual 2019 Elected Official Outreach event on Saturday, January 26, at 9 a.m. in the Wanek Hall on the second floor of the Winona History Center, 160 Johnson Street. January 28

The Winona Area Retired Educators’ Association will hold its first 2019 general meeting on Monday, January 28, at 8:30 a.m. at Perkins in Winona (if schools are closed, meeting is cancelled). The honored guest speaker will be Minnesota House Representative Gene Pelowski. Come visit, enjoy a delicious breakfast, and learn about educational issues! January 30

River Arts Alliance will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday, January 30, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Wanek Hall in the Winona County History Center, 160 Johnson Street. Social time is from 5:30 to 6; the business meeting is from 6-7 p.m. Learn more about River Arts Alliance, its 2018 accomplishments, 2019 goals, and election of board of director nominees by the members. Light refreshments will be served, and a cash bar made available. This meeting is free and open to the public.

February 4

Cathedral’s Young at Heart will meet on February 7, starting with 12:10 mass followed by a lunch of baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, Waldorf salad, green beans, roll, and cherry pie. Entertainment will be singing by Fr. McNea. Make reservations by calling Karen at 457-3671 no later than noon on February 4. Cost is $5; all are welcome.

February 11

Winona Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #191 will meet on Monday, February 11, at the Tea House on Gould Street at 4:45 p.m. for a lasagna meal. The rosary will be at 5:30, and the meeting will begin at 5:45.

Please wear red or pink if possible (Cupid might even be there!).

Join for faith, food, fun and fellowship. All women are welcome.

Meetings for the Bluff Country chapter of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association are held at the Witoka Tavern at 7:30 on every third Thursday of the month, except June and July. Newcomers are welcome.

The Widowed Persons Social Group has cancelled their dinner meetings indefinitly, but will still be meeting every Tuesday morning for breakfast at 7:30 at Hy-Vee. The group has also joined in the meetings of the Before Noon Widows Group, which meets on every Monday at 10:45 a.m. for breakfast. All widows, widowers and guests are welcome. Hope for Hurting Parents is for parents of children who struggle with chemical addiction. Here you can find encouragement, strength and hope through a Christ-centered fellowship. This is a safe place to find support for parents. Meetings are on every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at Radiant Church, 850 Highway 14, Winona. Independent Order of the Odd Fellows, Humboldt Lodge #24, meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 5 p.m. It is located at 959 West Fifth Street. All are welcome. This organization focuses on benevolence and charity.

Coloring for adults is a form of stress relief. It relaxes the brain and helps take your worries away. That is why the Winona Public Library offers Color Me Calm, a group that meets twice a month to color, relax, and socialize.
Color Me Calm meets every second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 5-7 p.m. in the library’s Bell Art Room.
Supplies and coloring sheets are provided.

Need help breaking free from behavior that can cause strained, broken, or abusive relationships? Organizers teach individuals the reasons for behaviors without placing guilt or blame, showing each individual dignity and respect as they go through the healing process.

Al-Anon Family Group meets on Thursdays from 7-8 p.m. in the St. Augustine Room, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 360 Main Street. This group is a 12-step fellowship for families of problem drinkers. Call 452-4445 for more information.

The Winona Kiwanis Sunrisers Club meets every Wednesday at 7:00 a.m. at the Winona Family Restaurant.

TOPS Minn. #263 Winona — New members are welcome! Learn how to lose weight  and keep it off. The group meets on Wednesdays. Weigh-in is between 8-8:50 a.m. and the meeting runs from 9-9:50 a.m. at Callista Court, 1455 West Broadway.
