Do you have sick chickens or issues with predators attacking your flock? Are there no eggs being laid? These are common issues with small-scale and backyard poultry flocks. University of Minnesota Extension will be holding workshops to help you deal with these and other issues related to raising poultry.
The program will feature university specialists in small-scale poultry production with expertise in feeding, health, and general management.
Locally, there will be a workshop in St. Charles on February 23 at the city hall from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Additional locations include St. Cloud, Gaylord, Elko New Market, and Alexandria, Minn. Please register for the St. Charles program online at z.umn.edu/poultry19, or by calling Winona County Extension at 507-457-6440. Details on other locations are available at z.umn.edu/backyard19.
The cost of the program is $10 per person or $20 per household (maximum of three people), and includes lunch. Payment by check is preferred.
