‘Undocumented: Great Lakes Poets Laureate on Social Justice’ at WPL May 30


Celebrate the release of “Undocumented: Great Lakes Poets Laureate on Social Justice” on Thursday, May 30, from 5-7 p.m. at the Winona Public Library. The book is organized around themes from the Southern Poverty Law Center’s “Ten Ways to Fight Hate: A Community Response Guide,” calling on readers to act on behalf of victims of social injustice.

Five poets laureate will read from the book throughout the evening. Poets laureate include Joyce Sutphen, Minnesota’s poet laureate; James Armstrong, Winona’s first poet laureate; Ken McCullough, who served three terms as Winona’s poet laureate; Emilio DeGrazia, who served two terms as Winona’s poet laureate; and Rob Hardy, Northfield’s poet laureate.

Books will be on sale at the event courtesy of Paperbacks and Pieces.
