Mid West Music Fest is pleased to announce the hiring of Abby Lee as managing director. Lee comes to MWMF with 15 years of professional experience in administration, fundraising, marketing and project management related to numerous fields in nonprofits. She also has extensive event coordination experience through Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center and The Historic Trempealeau Hotel. Most recently, she was the marketing and outreach director for The Parenting Place in La Crosse.
Lee is a graduate of Winona Senior High, with college degrees from the University of Minnesota - Duluth and Cornell University. She currently resides in La Crosse, Wis., with her husband Mark, and two children (Keya, Sacia).
Lee will join Parker Forsell (creative director) in stewarding Mid West Music Fest through its 11th year. MWMF is a 501c3 nonprofit founded in Winona in 2010 by Sam Brown as part of an AmeriCorps volunteer program project. In 2016, MWMF started a second arm of the festival, which now calls La Crosse, Wis., home. MWMF’s purpose is to promote music and art in the region, creating opportunities for artists, and stimulating economic development — its two signature events center on music performances across multiple venues in two historic downtowns. Dates for the 2020 Fest are May 1-2 in Winona and September 11-12 in La Crosse.
MWMF will be tabling as part of Shut Down Third Street on Saturday, September 21, in downtown Winona. Stop by to meet Lee.
