Cotter Christmas Concert is December 12

The Cotter High School Choirs will present their annual Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. in the beautiful Chapel of St. Mary of the Angels. The Chapel of St. Mary of the Angels is located on the corner of Vila and Wabasha (Seventh) streets.

Each choir, the Cotter Concert Choir and Show Choir, will present a variety of seasonal selections. Concert Choir selections will include season choral favorites such as “Carol of the Bells,” and “Veni, Veni Emmanuel.” Also, on the program is “Please Come Home for Christmas,” featuring two soloists, and “Walkin’ Down The Road to Bethlehem.” The Concert Choir will also sing other holiday selections and traditional Christmas carols.

Another performing group that will be featured in the concert is the Show Choir. Their selections are more popular and contemporary. The Cotter Show Choir will perform upbeat selections from the musical “Hairspray” which include “Welcome to the Sixties” and “Good Morning Baltimore.” “City of Stars” from the musical “La, La Land” will also be featured in the Show Choir portion of the program.

The last portion of the concert is dedicated to those who enjoy the more traditional Christmas carols such as “The First Noel,” “Joy to the World,” and others. Cotter Choir alumni are always invited to join the Concert Choir in the traditional singing of “Peace, Peace” as the closing selection.

The Cotter Choirs are under the direction of Cathy Snyder.

Mark Roeckers will accompany both choirs on piano. The Show Choir choreographer is Claire Penning, Cotter class of 2013.

Everyone is welcome, and there is no admission fee.
