Where can you join friends and family to listen to music by Costello & Hipps, enjoy a delicious barbecue rib dinner and hear a few heart-warming stories of benevolence?
It all happens on Friday, January 26, at this year’s Winona Health Foundation Benevolence & Blues.
“Every year, people attending Benevolence and Blues for the first time say they didn’t know what to expect but they are so glad they came,” said Betsy Midthun, vice president of community engagement at Winona Health. “Who doesn’t want to listen to fun music, enjoy great food and hear a few heart-warming short stories that highlight some of the good in our community?”
This year’s stories feature Amy Boutelle, a Lake Winona Manor staff member who turns one of her talents into something special for residents; Gloria Siewert, a Winona Health volunteer who brought a unique project to the Winona area; Dean McClenathan, who has made the pursuit of a nursing career a little more possible for many; and a presentation on a unique approach to managing pain: it not only helps people decrease pain, it also improves their quality of life.
Benevolence & Blues will be at Visions Event Center at Signatures, 22852 County Road 17, in Winona. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with music by Costello & Hipps, hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, followed by dinner at 6:30. Brief, heart-warming stories of kindness and compassion along with more musical entertainment round out the evening. Tickets are $40 per person.
Reservations will be accepted through Monday, January 22. RSVP by sending a check payable to the Winona Health Foundation, to Winona Health Foundation, 855 Mankato Avenue, Winona, Minn., 55987. Please include the names of those attending. If you have questions, call 507-474-3328.
