The Winona Film Society will present “The Story of the Weeping Camel” on Friday, November 3. The movie begins at 7 p.m. and admission is $5.
It is spring in the Gobi Desert, South Mongolia, when a family of nomadic shepherds assist the birthing of their camel herd. One of the camels experiences an excruciatingly difficult delivery but, with help from the family, delivers a rare white calf. Despite the efforts of the shepherds, the mother rejects the calf. Two young boys from the tribe go in search of a miracle to find a musician. This movie is in Mongolian with English subtitles.
