Enjoy dancing to familiar tunes Dec. 2-3
Get a taste of the silver screen as the Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts presents “Movie Mania” on December 2-3. Emerging Dance Repertory Company II (DRC II) members will perform in the dance genres of ballet, jazz, tap, ballet, modern and hip hop — all inspired by the silver screen. DRC II is MCA’s junior performance company, featuring beginning and intermediate students ages 6-13. Audiences of all ages will enjoy familiar songs from movies including: “Star Wars,” “Moana,” “Mission Impossible,” “The Peanuts Movie,” “Atonement,” and ‘Space Jam.”
The dancers featured in the concert include Lilla Civettini, Ruthie Civettini, Ava Dahlke, Emmie Dammen, Abigail Ellenburg, Deja Foster, Elsa Henrichs, Jolie Hill, Elizabeth Hinz, Kylee Indahl, Mattie Kreisel, Heidi Langowski, Isabell Livingston, Isaac Meinke, Preston Meinke, Carmelle Meyer, Keelie Meyer, Jocelynn Olcott, Makarah Olcott, Amy Remoticado, Victoria Schroeder, Seamus Schwaba, Elina Skranka, Ella Skranka, Megan Stoltman, Theodore Stoltman, Salome Tovaisas, Isa Uribe, and Theresa Williams.
The creative forces behind the concert include Artistic Director Tammy Schmidt and the following choreographers: Jessica Dienger, Christine Martin, Rachael Nehring, and Natalie Schliech.
Performances are at 3 p.m. on December 2 and 3 in the Academy Theatre at MCA’s home, the Valéncia Arts Center, located at 1164 West 10th Street, Winona. Tickets are $5 for all ages. Tickets may be purchased beginning on November 27 in the MCA office or one hour prior to the performance (cash or check only). Handicap-accessible seating is available.
