Robert W. Cada, Sr., age 82, of Winona, MN, died Friday, December 21, 2007, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI.
He was born on October 12, 1925, in Winona, MN, to Mark and Barbara (Gabrych) Cada.
Robert honorably served his country in the US Army during WWII in Germany and also in the African and Middle Eastern Theaters. He also worked for many years at St. Mary's University in the maintenance department.
Throughout his life, he was a devoted fan of both Elvis and the Minnesota Vikings. Robert enjoyed fishing, bowling, and camping, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Robert is survived by one daughter, Bobbi (Rick) Davis, Rochester, MN; one son, Robert (Shayna) Cada Jr., Whitehall, WI; five grandchildren, Brandon Cada, Nicholas Cada, Kendra Cada, Blake Scholl, and Brianna Cada. He is also survived by four brothers and sisters, Harold Cada, Winona, MN; Ruth Janikowski, Milwaukee, WI; Richard (Pauline) Cada, Winona, MN; and Edward (Barbara) Cada, Winona, MN; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lawrence Cada and Donald Cada.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, December 27, 2007, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home. Monsignor Roy E. Literski will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Winona, where the American Legion Leon J. Wetzel Post #9 will provide full military honors.
