Kaminer, Richard W. ‘Dick’


Richard W. "Dick" Kaminer, age 68, of Minnesota City, MN, died Saturday, December 29, 2007, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, LaCrosse, WI. Dick was born January 21, 1939, in Fort Wayne, IN, the son of Willard and Gertrude (Dietrich) Kaminer.

On July 2, 1961, he was united in marriage to Bonnie L. Albrecht at Ridgeway United Methodist Church, Ridgeway, MN. He worked many years as an over the road truck driver for several companies, including Knutson and Kujak Trucking; and later as a local delivery driver for CD Corporation. He is a U.S. Army veteran.

Dick was a faithful member of Immanuel United Methodist Church of Winona. He had many interests and activities, but his greatest love and most enjoyment were his grandchildren and great-grandson. He also loved being on the river.

Dick enjoyed woodworking and stock car racing. He was very creative and loved to create and build things with his hands. A story teller par excellence. Dick worked hard and played hard. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Dick is survived by his wife, Bonnie L.; daughters, Vicki (Mark) Krage, Lake City, MN; Tina Sommer (Bill Coleman), Minnesota City, MN; Eve Marie Kaminer and husband, Reid Benes, Lake City, MN; and Karena Kae Kaminer, Minnesota City, MN. His mother, Gertrude Serwa, Gold Canyon, AZ. Nine grandchildren, Krystal (Mike) Ohlhaber, Mark Krage Jr., Cassandra and Stephanie Sommer, Sarrah, Amanda and Brooke Foster, Scott Richard Kaminer-Foster and Kali Kae Kaminer. One great- grandson, Ryan Richard Jonsgaard.

Dick is also survived by two brothers, Stanley Serwa, Gold Canyon, AZ, and Paul (Deb) Serwa, Winona. One sister, Eileen Todd, Lewiston, MN, and two sisters-in-law, Betty Cady and Linda Albrecht, LaCrosse, WI.

He was preceded in death by his father, stepfather and mother and father-in-law.

Memorial services to celebrate Dick's life will be on Wednesday, January 2. 2008, at 2:00 PM at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Winona, Rev. Christine Robinson officiating. Friends may call at the church from 1-2 PM on Wednesday. Honorary bearers will be Dick's grandchildren.
