Violet M. Buswell, 86, died Monday, December 25, 2006, at Mulder Health Care in West Salem, Wis.
Violet was born April 1, 1920, in Winona, to Albert and Elizabeth (Johnson) Volkart. She was married to Warner F. Buswell on July 28, 1937, in Minnesota City, Minn.
She enjoyed working as a secretary for Winona School District #861 for many years. Violet was a member of McKinley United Methodist Church.
Her family will cherish many special memories of her favorite pastimes of oil painting and writing.
She is survived by a son, Wayne (Betty) Buswell, of Fountain City, Wis.; a daughter, Dianne (Allen) Baker, of West Salem, Wis.; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Howard (Gladys) Volkart of Minnesota City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warner, on November 23, 1979, and by two sons, Warner Jr. "Bud" Buswell and Gary Buswell.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 4, at 11 a.m. at Martin-Myhre Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Dr. Donald D. Budd officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4, after 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Violet's memory to McKinley United Methodist Church.
