Wednesday, December 27

"At 2:31 p.m. police received a report that a man came home to a residence on the 300 block of Chestnut Street and found two juvenile females in the back room of his apartment. Police said that when the man, Michael Joseph Meilinger, 45, of Winona, yelled at the girls, they climbed out the window and fled. Meilinger said he didn't believe anything had been taken. Police were unable to locate the girls.

Thursday, December 28

"At 1:53 a.m. police say an officer observed a man accelerating unreasonably with a loud exhaust and attempted to pull him over. Just as the officer turned the squad lights on, the vehicle allegedly pulled to a stop on the 600 block of West Fourth Street. Police said that Blake Edward Dennis, 20, of Winona, then ran into his residence and locked the door, refusing to answer. Dennis was mailed a summons for fleeing an officer other than in a motor vehicle, having a loud exhaust and unreasonable acceleration.

"At 11:45 p.m. police responded to a report of a man passed out outside of Schydes Bar. Michael Patrick Kreidermacher, 24, of Winona, was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and was taken to Zumbro Valley for detoxification.

Friday, December 29

"At 12:59 a.m. police pulled over Daniel Jonathan Sjostrom, 26, of Winona, after he allegedly crossed the center line on Huff Street near Highway 61. Sjostrom was referred to the city attorney for possible charges of third degree driving while intoxicated after his blood-alcohol level was measured at .14 percent. Sjostrom may also face charges of illegally transporting firearms after police found two loaded handguns in his trunk, along with a case of six other handguns in a case. Police said that Sjostrum did have a permit, but was still restricted from carrying the loaded weapons while intoxicated.
