Robert J. Kuhlmann, age 61, of Winona, MN, died on Monday, January 5, 2009, at Community Memorial Hospital in Winona.
He was born on January 19, 1947, in Winona, MN, to LeRoy and Ruth (Czapiewski) Kuhlmann. He was married to Sue Servais but later divorced.
Bob was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Winona. A 1965 graduate of Winona High School, he and some of his high school friends formed the popular band, The Fabulous Ferraris. Bob also played for other bands and opened for such popular groups as The Grateful Dead. He graduated from Winona State University in 1975, an enthusiastic practitioner of music and art.
After his return to Winona, he designed and restored windows for Reinarts Stained Glass Studio. Later he became a substitute teacher and educator at the Early Childhood Development Center. Before he became ill, he was a job coach for the ORC Industries.
Bob’s unique sense of humor will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Ruth (Czapiewski) Kuhlmann; grandparents, Alfred and Charlotte Kuhlmann and John and Martha Czapiewski; aunts and uncles, Darwin (Esther) Kuhlmann, Lester (Estelle) Kuhlmann, Leatrice (James) King, Lonnie Kuhlmann, Victor Kuhlmann, Irene Czapiewski (Ray) Gaertner, Henry (Mary Orlowske) Chapin, and cousin, David Kuhlmann.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Friday, January 9, 2009, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.
Reverend Richard Colletti officiated. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
