Winona Police

Wednesday, December 9

•At 5:45 p.m. police were called to the Kwik Trip on Homer Road on a report of a theft. Police cited William Clifford Larson, 47, of Winona, for theft by shoplifting after he allegedly tried stealing an energy drink valued at $2.50.

Tuesday, December 22

•At 5:05 p.m. police responded to a report of an accident at Main and Third streets. Police said that a vehicle driven by Vincent Anthony Ciagiola, 65, of Rushford, failed to yield on a left hand turn and struck a vehicle driven by Marilyn Thersia Hansen, 58, of Austin, Minn. Ciagiola was cited for failure to yield.

•At 3:01 p.m. police responded to a vehicle and pedestrian collision in the parking lot of the Freedom Gas Station on Johnson Street. A vehicle driven by Hannah Josephine Nack, 20, of Caledonia, didn’t see a man walking in front of her car and then slid on slushy snow and collided with the man. Witnesses said that the vehicle did not strike 80-year-old Bruce Welford Stanton very hard, but that he was knocked to the ground. He was transported by ambulance with nonincapacitating injuries to Winona Health Services. No one was cited in the collision.

Thursday, December 24

•At 2:35 a.m. police were called to Winona Health Services on a possible domestic dispute. A woman there was being treated after she was allegedly struck in the side of the face with a closed fist by Terence Paul Cierzan, 42, of Winona. Police said she was bleeding from the ear and her jaw and face were swollen. Police arrested Cierzan on charges of fifth degree domestic assault.

Wednesday, December 23

•At 3:14 a.m. police responded to a report of a domestic dispute in Hidden Valley. A 17-year-old boy allegedly threatened another man with a knife. Police arrested the boy on charges of second degree assault, fifth degree domestic assault and minor consumption of alcohol.
