Bettenburg, Kristi (Anderson)

(12/31/2015)

Kristi Bettenburg, 56, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, at home surrounded by God’s grace after a 10-year battle with cancer.

Kristi was born on May 5, 1958, in Winona, to Becky and John Anderson. She graduated from Winona Senior High School where she was Homecoming Queen her senior year. Kristi went on to graduate from Lowthian College and made numerous treasured friends and memories while working at Bridgeman’s and the Hot Fish Shop.

Kristi left Winona and moved to St. Paul to further her career in retail. She met Phil Bettenburg and they were married April 11, 1987, in Winona. Kristi became a housewife and cherished mother to her children, Nikki and David. She worshipped her kids, attending dance performances, athletic contests, hosting parties of every nature and was always the beacon of light for Phil, Nikki and David.

Kristi was very active in her church and the Catholic schools of Nativity and Cretin Derham Hall. She loved all sports, especially attending Viking and Gopher games. Kristi became an avid golfer and won a Town and Country Club Women’s Championship. Most of all Kristi had a strong devotion to her Catholic faith, frequenting daily Mass.

Kristi was preceded in death by her father, John; and aunt, Ruth; and is survived by her mother, Rebecca, of Winona; brother, Daryl, of Winona; sisters, Jodi (Doug) Shrauner, of Woodbury, Minn., Shelley (Hymie) Felicilda, of Woodbury; son, David, of St. Paul; daughter, Nikki, of St. Paul; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Services to remember Kristi will be a visitation on Sunday, January 3, from 2-5 p.m. at O’Halloran-Murphy Funeral Home, 575 South Snelling Avenue, St. Paul, with a Funeral Mass on Monday, January 4, at 10:30 a.m. with visitation an hour before Mass at the Church of Nativity, 1900 Wellesley Avenue, St. Paul, Minn.

We all loved Kristi with all of our hearts and she will live with us each day and how she succeeded each day in the most important jobs in the world, those being mother and housewife.

God bless you!
