Workshop on how childhood impacts brain development

(4/24/2017)

Join Ruth Charles, MSW, PhD, LISW, WSU professor, ACE interface trainer, as she presents about wellness and the brain for parents and professionals.

Studies on the brain have discovered many new things. The “ACE study” found that children who had adverse experiences before the age of 18 had an increase in physical, mental and behavioral problems later in life. The study suggested that some behavior is not out of rebellion but is biologically-based.

This free workshop will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Winona Senior High School Media Center multipurpose room. For more information or to register contact Community Education at 507-494-0900 or visit www.winona.k12.mn.us/communityed. Attendees may also register at the door.

This event is cosponsored by NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Winona Affiliate and Project COMPASS.
