Wait, Bonnie May


Bonnie May Wait, 72, of Winona, passed away on August 28, 2017. She was born on November  18, 1944, to Russell and Mamie (Bublitz) Googins. 

Bonnie lived in Winona and graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1963. She married Doyle Wait on October 20, 1965.  She worked at Winona Industries, ASCO, ARAMARK, and Rivers Hotel Group.                                                                                                She was an avid gardener and wonderful cook. She loved to read, go horseback riding and trout fishing. She also cherished spending time with family, friends, and her dogs, Izzy and Mattie. She was an amazing wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Doyle; and daughter, Candance; sisters,  Betty (JR) Rumpca, Beverly (Gerald) McNally; brother, Robert Googins; and multiple nieces and nephews. She is also survived by mother-in-law, Beulah Wait; brothers-in-law, Dwane Wait, James (Zena) Wait, Milton Wait, Myron (LaDonna)Wait, Steve Wait, Gary Wait; sisters-in-law, Joan(Roger) Peterson, Susan (Dennis)Plien. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brothers, Fritz (Helen) Googins, Harley Googins, Grace (Richard) Hartwick and Steve Googins. She was also preceded in death by father-in-law, Doyle W. Wait; and brother-in-law, Morris Wait.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Fawcett Junker Funeral Home. Her funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 31, at 10 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, Winona, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be Scotch Cemetery in Freemont, Minn., with a meal to follow at the church. Pallbearers are Dan Googins, Andy Rumpca, Doug Rumpca Sr., Richard Hartwick, William Rumpca III, and Ryan Goergen.
