School is back in session and Ashley Furniture employees have helped provide extra supply items to local classrooms. Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc., held a school-supplies drive in its Arcadia and Whitehall facilities to help gather items for local schools and children in need.
In July this year, the Arcadia, Wis., community experienced a flood which had a great impact on the city. This event sparked the idea to assist those impacted by donating necessary items to begin the new school year. Ashley employees brought in school supplies with a value of over $2,100 for students affected by the flood, as well as other children in need, at the Arcadia, Independence and Whitehall schools. Additionally, one department in the organization filled a backpack full of supplies for one child in each grade at Arcadia’s Elementary and Middle School.
Ashley has been a long-time contributor toward education. Over the past 10 years, Ashley has provided more than 2,000 scholarships to students, and millions of dollars in funds and in-kind services to assist local schools and universities.
