Rodney J. Barth, age 70, of Winona, died on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Sauer Health Care, Winona, Minn., surrounded by his family.
Rodney Joseph was born on March 6, 1947, in Trempealeau County, Wis., to Roman and Helen (Soppa) Barth. He graduated from Cochrane-Fountain City High School and completed his undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He retired from the state of Illinois as a systems analyst.
He married Kari Kreusch and had two children, Brian and Justin. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Winona, Minn.
Rodney is survived by his son, Brian Barth, Chicago, Ill.; mother, Helen Barth, Winona; five siblings, Howard (Judy) Barth, Arcadia, Wis., Gailanne (Bill) Boyle, Basking Ridge, N.J., Donn (Sheila) Barth, Mayer, Minn., Warren (Debbie) Barth, Buffalo City, Wis., and Ryan Barth, Fountain City, Wis.; and nieces and nephews, Bridget Maurud, Jennifer Brandes, Timothy, Daniel, Colleen, Brendan, and Kevin Barth.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roman; and his son, Justin.
Mass of Christian Burial to remember Rodney will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 9, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Winona, Minn., with the visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Visitation Commons of St. Mary’s Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fountain City, Wis., in the spring.
