Board-certified psychiatrist Jessica McIlrath, DO, joined the Winona Health Behavioral Health staff and will provide psychiatric care for adults in outpatient psychiatric and counseling services beginning in June.
“We’re pleased to add to our team so people in our community have increased access to psychiatric services right here at Winona Health,” said Robin Hoeg, RN, MS, LNHA, vice president of inpatient and senior services.
“I find it a privilege to hear the many life stories I hear each day, to meet people in all stages of life and work together to help them overcome whatever challenges they may be facing,” said Dr. McIlrath. She noted that she chose Winona Health because it is a smaller, community-focused system that understands the importance of provider wellbeing as well as working closely to improve the health of the community it serves.
Dr. McIlrath is experienced in adult psychiatry assessment and medication management. Prior to joining Winona Health, she provided care for patients at UnityPoint Clinic in West Des Moines, Iowa.
Dr. McIlrath earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa, and completed her residency in psychiatry at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine in Sioux Falls where she served as chief resident. She is certified as a general adult psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association.
In her free time, Dr. McIlrath enjoys spending time with her family, going for walks, reading and sewing.
