Area closings due to extreme cold weather

Winona Health

Winona Health is concerned about the safety of its patients and staff due to the extreme weather conditions and, therefore, may modify schedules over the next few days. Additionally, Winona Health will help patients who would like to reschedule a procedure or appointment due to the weather. Please call your provider’s office or Winona Health’s main number, 507-454-3650, to make a change.

The emergency department, urgent care and hospital services will remain available as usual.

Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center

Due to the predicted cold expected through the next few days, Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center Minnesota offices in Winona, Red Wing, Caledonia, Wabasha and Rushford will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. The medication room in Winona will remain open for its normal hours.

If there is a mental health emergency, Hiawatha is urging people to call the Crisis Line at 1-844-Crisis2 or go to their local emergency room.

Winona County History Center

The Winona County History Center (WCHS) will be closed on Wednesday, January 30, and the Whitewater 100 Exhibit Opening and Program is postponed due to the dangerous temperatures and wind-chill warning.

The program about memories of Whitewater State Park will be held on Wednesday, February 20, at 12:05 p.m. for the WCHS’ Food For Thought Series, and the exhibit Whitewater 100 will be open for viewing in the meantime as regular museum hours resume. Log onto for more information and updates.

Minnesota State College Southeast campuses
