Winona Police

Tuesday, April 16

• At 9:34 a.m. a Winona man reported that binoculars, charging cords, loose papers and cash were stolen from his vehicle at East Lake Apartments. There were no signs of forced entry, though he claims to have locked his vehicle before leaving it in the parking lot.

• At 11:30 a.m. police cited Lindsey Brianne Sommer, 34, of Winona, with theft by shoplifting and trespassing at Heart’s Desire.

Thursday, April 18

• At 12:18 p.m. a Winona man reported the theft of $400 in cash, as well as jewelry, collectible coins and baseball cards from a residence on the 400 block of East Broadway.

• At 1:36 p.m. an employee at First Congregational Church reported the theft of a Dewalt circular saw, drill, and reciprocating saw with a total value of $460 from the church.

Tuesday, April 16

• At 11:38 p.m. deputies arrested Joshua Daniel Burriss, 40, and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of fifth-degree possession of marijuana after deputies reportedly noticed that Burriss was sitting inside his vehicle on the shoulder of Interstate 90 for some time. When deputies went to check on Burriss in his vehicle, they reported smelling marijuana. Inside the vehicle, deputies reportedly located five mason jars full of marijuana and hash.

Wednesday, April 17

• At 3:29 a.m. deputies responded to a call from Stockton about a woman being assaulted by two individuals. Deputies arrived at the scene and the two suspects were gone, and the victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Deputies are currently investigating.
