Winona Police

Tuesday, June 4

• At 11:35 a.m officers assisted with traffic control while crews repaired a gas line that was ruptured by an excavation company at Gilmore and Vila streets. The road was reportedly closed for roughly one hour.

• At 7:31 p.m. a Winona woman reported that someone shot her car with a bb gun near the intersection of Broadway and Main Street.

Wednesday, June 5

• At 7:19 a.m. police ticketed Tammi Jean Reed, 33, and Jason Michael Reed, 34, both of Winona, with theft after they allegedly stole a bicycle and a Burley children’s trailer from the backyard of a residence on the 800 block of West Seventh Street.

• At 10:25 a.m. police ticketed Michelle Lynn Rozek, 32, of Winona, with theft by shoplifting from Walmart.

• At 11:48 a.m. a Winona man reported that someone stole his phone from MGM Liquor.

Thursday, June 6

• At 9:28 a.m. police cited Brenden Lee Thatcher, 55, of Winona, with theft after he allegedly took a flower and flower pot from the entryway of Valley View Towers.

• At 9:41 a.m. a Winona man reported that there was a snapping turtle in his flower garden on 1450 block of East Burns Valley Road. The turtle was subsequently removed.

• At 10:09 a.m. a Winona woman reported the theft of a 26-inch Schwinn bicycle from a residence on the 200 block of Olmstead Street

• At 3:04 p.m. police cited a 16-year-old Winona boy for possession of a small amount of marijuana at the Winona Area Learning Center.

Friday, June 7

• At 12:03 a.m. police arrested Demoine Solo Wade, 40, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of driving after cancellation inimical to public safety after he was stopped for allegedly having an object suspended from the rearview mirror of his vehicle at the intersection of Fourth and Wilson streets.

• At 2:51 a.m. a Winona woman reported that she observed two skinny male subjects entering her vehicle after she returned home from work to her residence on the 700 block of West Fifth Street. The men fled after reportedly stealing a cellphone, a purse, and some cash.

• At 4:13 a.m., a Winona man reported that someone had ransacked his vehicle on the 950 block of West 10th Street, but nothing appeared to have been taken.

Tuesday, June 4

• At 4:56 p.m. a Rollingstone man reported the theft of 40 gray cement paver blocks from a garage on the 100 block of Broadway in Rollingstone.

Thursday, June 6

• At 3:26 p.m. deputies arrested Jermaine La Juane Johnson, 48, of Chicago, Ill., on an Olmsted County warrant and cited him with driving after revocation after he was stopped for allegedly driving 88 mph in a 70-mph zone on I-90 near mile marker 271.

• At 9:43 p.m. deputies arrested a 36-year-old Winona man on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after he was stopped for allegedly speeding near the intersection of County Road 17 and County Road 12. He reportedly showed signs of intoxication and told the deputy that he was on medication. He was released, with charges pending the results of a blood test.
