Lois I. Hackbarth, age 90, of Ridgeway, Minn., passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at Cottagewood Senior Communities in Rochester, Minn., surrounded by her family.

She was born on September 19, 1929, in Utica, Minn., to Ray and Grace (Teska) Heber, and graduated from Winona Senior High School. Lois was united in marriage with Russel Hackbarth on June 6, 1951, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ridgeway, and he preceded her in death on February 24, 2000.

Lois’ faith and her family were the foundations of her life. She was an active member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ridgeway and its Women of Grace. As a devoted homemaker, Lois cherished the time that she spent with her family. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma who will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.

Lois is lovingly survived by her five children, Debra (Richard) Stolpa, Michelle (La Vaine) Neseth, Ruth (Tom) Graham, Wendy (Joseph) Minnis, and Jeffrey (Joanne) Hackbarth; 11 grandchildren, Alison Stolpa, Laura, Joseph, and Jacob Minnis, Brad Neseth, Lisa Wood, Daniel and Jason Hackbarth, Jennifer Holden, Katie Meyer, and Kali Graham; 12 great-grandchildren, with two who will be joining the family soon; as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ridgeway. The Reverend Anthony Straseske will officiate. Lois will be laid to rest at Bush Cemetery in Ridgeway.

Pallbearers will be Lois’ grandsons, Bradley Neseth, Joseph Minnis, Jacob Minnis, Daniel Hackbarth, and Jason Hackbarth; and her nephew, Steve Hackbarth.

Lois’ family would like to extend their deepest thanks and gratitude to the staff at Cottagewood 7 and to Seasons Hospice in Rochester, Minn., for the loving and compassionate care they provided our mother.
