Winona Police

Thursday, June 25

• At 9:31 a.m. officers received a report that a U-Haul cargo van was stolen on the 1750 block of West Service Drive.

• At 1:45 p.m.  woman reported that a vehicle was stolen on the 200 block of East Fifth Street.

• At 3:31 p.m. officers arrested Brently Steven Johnson, 57, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for multiple potential charges of check forgery and possession of stolen checks.

• At 10:47 p.m. officers arrested Laurie Elizabeth Boehmke, 41, of Winona, and referred her to the county attorney for a potential charge of violating a harassment restraining order on the 1100 block of Sugar Loaf Road.

Friday, June 26

• At 4:53 p.m. a juvenile male was arrested on a juvenile apprehension order and for possession of marijuana after officers received a report of a gun being sighted in the Goodwill parking lot on the 1450 block of Gilmore Avenue. Officers reportedly found a BB gun and 13.3 grams of marijuana in a vehicle matching a description given in the initial report they received.

• At 9:59 p.m. officers ticketed four juvenile males from Winona with trespassing at the Bob Welch Aquatic Center on the 780 block of West Fourth Street.

Saturday, June 27

• At 7:03 p.m. officers ticketed Nicola Renee Garfield, 42, of Winona, with trespassing at Walmart.

Sunday, June 28

• At 12:11 a.m. a woman reported that her purse and phone were stolen on the 700 block of East Fifth Street. The items were ultimately recovered, though $200 were missing, according to the report.

• At 12:50 p.m. officers arrested Fredrick Michael Kaehler, 38, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for potential charges of making terroristic threats and domestic assault causing fear. Kaehler allegedly threatened to kill someone and made a slicing motion across his neck.

• At 7:06 p.m. officers ticketed Katherine Dawn Hopkins, 38, of Winona, with theft by shoplifting at Walmart.

Monday, June 29

• At 7:27 a.m. officers arrested Jason Lee Peterson, 41, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of misdemeanor domestic assault causing fear and harm after he reportedly threw a container at someone, resulting in the container hitting their face, on the 100 block of East Ninth Street.

• At 8:29 p.m. officers arrested Paul Anthony Clark, 29, of Winona, on a probation violation and ticketed him with fleeing officers on foot on Eighth and Olmstead streets.

• At 9:54 p.m. officers ticketed Brently Steven Johnson, 57, of Winona, with trespassing at the Kwik Trip near highways 61 and 43.

Tuesday, June 30

• At 2:14 a.m. officers arrested Bridget Ann Martinson, 26, of Winona, and referred her to the county attorney for potential charges of fourth-degree assault and fleeing officers on foot after she reportedly ran from officers while handcuffed and kicked an officer on the 600 block of West Fifth Street.

 

Winona County

Friday, June 26

• At 7:40 p.m. deputies received a report of an ATV crash resulting in injures on the 15000 block of County Road 25. According to the report, a man was taken to Winona Health for the treatment of injuries after the front panel of an ATV he was operating came off and hit his face, causing him to collide with an electric pole.

Saturday, June 27

∙At 4:30 p.m. deputies received a report of a single motorcycle accident resulting in injuries on County Road 28 and Double M Road. According to the report, a man and woman were taken to Winona Health for the treatment of injuries.

 

Buffalo County

Sunday, June 28

• At about 12:05 a.m. deputies arrested Scott Johnson, 51, of Madison, Wis., and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of operating while under the influence after receiving a report of a crash near the line between Buffalo and Trempealeau counties. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Johnson did not go around a curve, went off the roadway, went down an embankment and rolled over before ending up on its wheels. Johnson and a passenger received treatment for injuries at the scene and were not taken to a local hospital by ambulance, according to the report.

 

La Crosse County Sheriff

Thursday, June 25

• At 4:16 p.m. deputies responded to a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle on Highway 35 near the Trempealeau County line. The motorcycle’s occupants were transported to a local hospital for the treatment of serious injuries, according to the report. The motorcycle was reportedly going east on Highway 35 when the vehicle exited a boat landing, resulting in the motorcycle hitting the vehicle and the motorcycle’s occupants being ejected.
