Tuesday, July 7

•    At 3:01 p.m. officers arrested Jason Paul Garfield, 59, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of felony violation of a harassment restraining order on the 950 block of West Ninth Street. According to the report, Garfield called and sent text messages to someone with a harassment restraining order against him.

Wednesday, July 8

•    At 2:24 p.m. a woman reported that a ring was stolen from the center console of a vehicle on the 500 block of Wall Street.

Thursday, July 9

•    At 3:50 p.m. a man reported that a red and silver moped was stolen on the 50 block of West Third Street.

Friday, July 10

•    At 10:45 a.m. officers received a report that a black bicycle and a blue bicycle were stolen on the 200 block of West Broadway.

•    At 1:10 p.m. officers received a report that a bicycle rider was evaluated at Winona Health after reportedly swerving into a vehicle on McBride and Fourth streets.

•    At 5:11 p.m. a woman reported that two checks in her name were used fraudulently at a Kwik Trip in Rochester.

•    At 5:33 p.m. a woman reported that a white 29-inch Thrasher bicycle was stolen on the 1100 block of Sugar Loaf Road.

•    At 7:59 p.m. an E-Z Car Wash employee reported that someone tried to drill the lock of a coin machine.

Saturday, July 11

•    At 1:23 a.m. officers arrested Derrick William Micha B. Ericsson, 22, of St. Charles, and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of fourth-degree driving while intoxicated on Laird and Third streets.

•    At 6:26 a.m. officers ticketed James Arthur Davey, 59, of Winona, with playing loud music on the 600 block of East Fourth Street.

•    At 7:38 p.m. a woman reported that the front bumper and hood of a vehicle were damaged on the 500 block of Chatfield Street.

Sunday, July 12

•    At 12:43 p.m. officers ticketed Brently Steven Johnson, 57, of Winona, with trespassing at Menards.

•    At 5:50 p.m. a man reported that a Trump election sign was taken from a yard on Echo Glen Road.

•    At 6:53 p.m. a woman reported that an acquaintance borrowed her 2020 Hyundai Elantra on the 700 block of Terrace Heights Road. The acquaintance reportedly did not return the vehicle; however, it was ultimately located in Houston County, according to the report.

•    At 10:24 p.m. a man on Sugar Loaf Road reported that he lost about $500 in a scam through Bitcoin.

Monday, July 13

•    At 8:56 a.m. a woman reported that a window screen was tampered with on the 150 block of East Third Street.

•    At 12:48 p.m. a woman reported that she lost about $2,000 after responding to a message about an anti-virus program for computers.


Winona County

Friday, July 10

•    At 10:17 a.m. a Stockton man reported that someone took out a loan for $26,500 in his name from a Georgia bank. Deputies are still investigating.

Saturday, July 11

•    At 3:11 p.m. deputies received a report of an ATV crash on the 22000 block of White Avenue Drive. The woman who was driving the ATV on the state trail system was taken to Winona Health for the treatment of an arm injury, according to the report.

Monday, July 13

•    At 11:12 a.m. deputies arrested Sheila Marie Zavaleta, 49, of Minnesota City, and referred her to the county attorney for a potential charge of fifth-degree domestic assault after she reportedly struck someone in Minnesota City.


Trempealeau County

Monday, July 13

•    At 12:27 p.m. a 16-year-old male was transported to Gunderson Health System in La Crosse, Wis., after reportedly striking a bridge with a vehicle he was driving and rolling over into a creek. The crash is still under investigation.
