Jeanne Mary Homola, 64, passed away on October 20, 2020, surrounded by her three sons.
Jeanne was born on May 25,1956, in New York, the daughter of Mary Hopkins and John Duggan. She is survived by her three sons, Joe, Tony (Danielle), and John (Sierra); along with her loving grandkids, Ava, Stella, William, and Mia Homola. Growing up in Flossmoor, Ill., Jeanne would graduate from Marian Catholic in 1974 and would later attend St. Teresa’s College in Winona, Minn. This is where Jeanne’s “ ourney” would begin. She met and married Steve Homola and would go on to have three sons. Jeanne worked at The Tau Center for many years with the Franciscan Sisters. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Winona. One of Jeanne’s proudest moments was graduating from Winona State University with a social work degree. She became very involved with Elder Networking, where she would provide cheer to countless people. Jeanne always made time for family, particularly her grandkids. Jeanne was a self described “Valley Girl,” and especially loved watching the deer and birds. She also treasured her regular vacations to Michigan and Florida. This is where she found serenity in the sounds of the waves. Jeanne enjoyed gardening, driving the countryside, nature, spending time with friends and family, and most of all brightening up anyone’s day. Jeanne is loved by so many and will always be remembered as a selfless, kind, strong, and independent woman. She will be deeply missed forever. A private service will be held.
