Seven Winona-area attractions, festivals and events have received funding through Visit Winona’s 2019 Marketing Grant Program for outside promotions to visitors.
The Visit Winona Marketing Grant Program was launched in 2018 to support the convention and visitors bureau’s mission to increase travel and tourism in the community. It does so by providing grants of up to $1,000 in order to assist partners with specific marketing campaigns aimed at potential visitors that are more than 90 miles from Winona. With these grants, Visit Winona leverages partner access to niche audiences and assists with efforts to reach them more effectively.
The goals of the program are:
• Increase the number of overnight visitors to Winona.
• Grow travel-related sales and employment in Winona.
• Generate increased sales-tax revenue from travel-related industries.
• Develop industry partnerships to expand marketing reach.
This year’s grant recipients include Frozen River Film Festival, Great River Shakespeare Festival, Kashubian Centennial Celebration, Minnesota Marine Art Museum, Page Theatre, Treedome Productions, and the Winona County Historical Society.
