Winona Friendship Center events, classes

When you’re struggling with that one person on your shopping list — the family member or friend who has everything they could want and is impossible to shop for — there is an option that may be more thoughtful than a gift card or more useful than flowers or another sweater: a gift to a charity in their name.

The Winona Friendship Center Activity Council, Inc., an independent nonprofit organization, supports the programs of the Winona Friendship Center. The center is an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for older adults in the Winona area by providing affordable activities, and a place of social gathering.

Please consider giving a birthday, Christmas, or memorial gift in honor of your loved one that can be used to provide a membership to the Friendship Center ($29 per year), the Wellness Center ($76 per year), or an activity card ($35 for 10 sessions) for those older adults in the community who struggle to afford those fees. You may also give a general donation gift to support the center’s many programs in successful aging.

Contact the Winona Friendship Center at 454-5212 for further details. Open building hours are on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; on Tuesday and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
