Habitat for Humanity, WVS team up for August Food Drop

Habitat for Humanity Winona-Fillmore Counties and Winona Volunteer Services are teaming up for another summer food drop on Friday, August 21, from 10 a.m. until the food is gone. Pick up will happen in front of the Habitat ReStore at 900 West Third Street in Winona. Participants will drive north onto Ben Street and then east on Third Street.

The organizations will be distributing Farmers to Families Food Boxes as part of the USDA’s Coronavirus Food Assistance Program. The USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service partnered with national, regional, and local suppliers (whose workforce has been significantly impacted by the closure of restaurants, hotels, and other food service businesses) to purchase up to $3 billion in fresh produce, dairy, and meat products. This is a wonderful opportunity to help farmers distribute their products to local families.

There are no income requirements and all are welcome.
