Friday, January 19


• At 8:37 a.m. police responded to a vehicle collision at Third and Lafayette streets. Madeline Louise Caron, 21, of Tracy, Minn., reportedly ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle. She was cited for disobeying a stop sign.
• At 5:13 p.m. police received a report that a large tote with hunting clothes and equipment was stolen from a vehicle parked on the 850 block of West Burns Valley Road. The contents are valued at $1,000.
• At 9:37 p.m. police stopped a vehicle at Huff and Sarnia streets for having a loud muffler. Dalton Louis Horman, 20, of Winona, was cited with possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Saturday, January 20

• At 9:13 a.m. police received a report that a chainsaw valued at $400 was stolen from the back of a pickup on the 200 block of East Eighth Street.

Sunday, January 21

• At 12 a.m. police stopped a vehicle at Seventh and Lafayette streets for having a brake light out. The driver, Jacob Michael Rivera, 19, of Winona, reportedly showed signs of intoxication and was cited with fourth-degree driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content measured at .12 percent. Passenger Carter John Strunk, 19, of Winona, was cited with underaged consumption of alcohol.
• At 4:49 p.m. police received a report from an adult female who said her purse was stolen from her vehicle overnight while it was parked on the 500 block of West Fourth Street.
• At 7:04 p.m. police were called to a residence at Sarnia and Wilson streets on a report of an assault. The incident is under investigation.

Monday, January 22

• At 12:59 p.m. police received a report from an adult male that his AK-47 had been stolen from his residence on the 600 block of East Seventh Street. The man told police he had had friends over and didn’t know one of them well. Officers are investigating.
• At 5:12 p.m. police received a report from an employee at Wal-Mart that two hoverboards had been stolen from the store.
• At 9:32 p.m. police cited Robert Paul Anderson, 59, of Winona, with violating an order for protection after he reportedly banged on the door to a residence where the person who holds the order was staying.
• At 11:33 p.m. officers assisted the fire department with a vehicle fire on the 1100 block of East Eighth Street.

Tuesday, January 23

• At 1 a.m. police responded to a vehicle that had slid onto the railroad tracks. The driver, Marcus Deonte Montgomery, 22, of Winona, reportedly showed signs of intoxication and was cited with third-degree test refusal and fourth-degree driving while intoxicated.

• At 5:23 p.m. deputies received a call from a resident on County Road 24 from an adult female who said her license plates and a trailer hitch had been stolen from her truck.

Saturday, January 20

• At 2:06 a.m. deputies stopped a vehicle on the 200 block of West Broadway for operating without headlights. The driver, Maria Jean Oberman, 20, of Winona, reportedly showed signs of intoxication and was cited with fourth-degree driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content measured at .11 percent.
• At 9:04 p.m. deputies stopped a vehicle at highways 61 and 43 for having a headlight out. The deputy reportedly smelled the odor of marijuana in the vehicle and two passengers allegedly provided false names. One passenger, a 17-year-old female, was cited for providing a false name to police and obstructing the legal process. Another passenger, Treyvonte Michael Board, 18, of La Crosse, Wis., was cited for providing a false name to police and possession of a small amount of marijuana in a motor vehicle.

Sunday, January 21

• At 12:45 a.m. deputies stopped a vehicle at Second and Huff streets for having a brake light out. The driver, a 19-year-old Winona man, reportedly showed signs he was under the influence of a controlled substance and officers obtained a warrant for a blood test. Potential charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance are pending the results of the test.
• At 3:04 a.m. deputies stopped a vehicle at Broadway and Grand Street for an equipment violation. The driver, Bailey Hunter Herber, 20, of Elgin, Minn., reportedly showed signs of intoxication and was cited with third-degree driving while intoxicated and underaged drinking and driving with a blood-alcohol content measured at .16 percent.
• At 4:48 p.m. deputies stopped a vehicle on I-90 at mile marker 272 for having a brake light out. The driver, Alejandro Plascencia, 19, of La Crosse, Wis., was cited with possession of a small amount of marijuana in a motor vehicle.
