Friday, January 26


• At 10:11 p.m. officers arrived at the 300 block of Mankato Avenue to serve a warrant to Taelor Scott Giebel, 20, of Winona, and reported encountering several intoxicated minors. Giebel was arrested on the warrant and ticketed with underaged consumption of alcohol. Ticketed with minor consumption of alcohol was a 16-year-old Winona female. Also ticketed with underaged consumption of alcohol were Kristen Marie Langowski, 19, of Winona; Shaylah Jean Burt, 19, of Utica; and Harmony Lynn Hundorf, 20, of Winona.
• At 10:24 p.m. officers responded to a report of a theft of a key lanyard and identification from an adult woman at St. Mary’s University.
• At 11:23 p.m. at Second and Lafayette streets, Damon Earl Wright, 19, of Dodge Center was issued a ticket for underaged consumption after he had reportedly been verbally warned for public consumption.
• At 11:59 p.m. officers responded to the 550 block of East Eighth Street on a report from an adult male regarding a stolen retrofitted blue 26’ Carbondale mountain bike with a motor added, valued at $500.

Saturday, January 27

• At 12:32 a.m. officers arrested James George Diem, 24, of Minnesota City, at Prairie Island Road and Verchota Landing after Diem’s vehicle reportedly left the road and entered the ditch. Officers said he showed signs of intoxication and he was cited with fourth-degree driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content reported at .08 percent.
• At 1:17 a.m. officers at the 100 block of East Third Street ticketed Mathew Thomas Tuma, 20, of Winona, with underaged consumption of alcohol following a physical altercation at Third and Market streets.
• At 10:22 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle on the 250 block of West Mark Street and cited Kristina Beth Sorensen, 18, of Prior Lake, Minn, with underaged consumption of alcohol.

Sunday, January 28

• At 1:12 a.m. at Fourth and Harriet streets, officers stopped a vehicle and arrested Shane John Swanke Mindrum, 26, of Winona, for gross misdemeanor second-degree test refusal and second-degree driving while impaired.
• At 1:48 a.m. at 10th and High Forest streets officers cited Ashley Meghan Fransis Hemmelman, 24, of Winona, with leaving the scene of a property-damage accident after her vehicle allegedly struck the rear end of a parked car and she left the scene.
• At 9:13 p.m. officers cited Bryan Charles Servais Miles, 23, of Winona, with domestic assault causing fear following an altercation on the 850 block of West Fifth Street.

Monday, January 29

• At 8:27 p.m. officers responded to the 500 block of West Seventh Street for a report of a hit-and-run collision. An adult male reported that his parked car was struck by an unknown vehicle between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., and a small amount of blue paint was transferred onto his vehicle.

Friday, January 26


• At 5:33 p.m. deputies stopped a vehicle at Highway 61 and Bridge Street in Minnesota City for having a broken driver’s side taillight and brake light, and reportedly noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. John Darrel Bacon, 36, of Lake City, Minn, was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana in a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Saturday, January 27

• At 6:49 p.m. deputies responded to a report of a hit-and-run collision at the Stockton Pump House in Stockton. An adult male reported that another vehicle backed into his car at the gas pump and the driver left the scene. Deputies are using video footage to investigate the incident.

Sunday, January 28

• At 1:21 a.m. deputies stopped a vehicle driven by Zachary Richard Hoard, 21, of Winona, on Mankato Avenue for having a rear light out and arrested him for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content measured at .09 percent.

Monday, January 29

• At 9:46 p.m. during a traffic stop at Highway 61 and Vila Street, deputies reportedly noticed an odor of marijuana coming from inside a vehicle. When questioned, one passenger reportedly handed the deputies a bag of marijuana. When removed from the vehicle, all five occupants reportedly admitted to being in possession of marijuana or paraphernalia. Arianna Rose Giller Schurman, 18, of Winona, was cited with possession of drug paraphernalia; Ryan Jacob Skow, 19, of Winona, was cited with possession of a small amount of marijuana; Hailey Brooke Christensen, 18, of Winona, was cited with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia; Ariana Marie Ilif, 18, of Winona, was cited with a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia; and Natalie Rose Mundstock, 18, of Winona, was cited with possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Tuesday, January 30

• At 7:15 a.m. deputies responded to a report of property damage at County Road 114. An adult woman said her mailbox was struck and damaged with a blunt instrument. The incident is under investigation.
