Winona Police

Tuesday, December 18

• At 10:43 a.m. police arrested Shad Michael Swanson, 46, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for potential charges of violating an order for protection after he was reportedly found with the individual who holds the order on the 1100 block of Sugar Loaf Road.

• At 11:27 p.m. police arrested Bridget Nicole Chick, 32, of Winona, and referred her to the county attorney for potential charges of fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine after police pulled her over for having a faulty tail light near the intersection of Fifth and Grand streets. Officers reportedly located a methamphetamine pipe and a small amount of methamphetamine in the vehicle.

• At 11:43 p.m. police cited a 17-year-old boy with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana on 12th and Grand streets.

Thursday, December 20

• At 8:13 p.m. police arrested Joseph Addison Simmons, 38, of Winona, and referred him to the county attorney for potential charges of fifth-degree possession of cocaine and possession of a small amount of marijuana after police conducted a routine traffic stop on Broadway and 39th Avenue.

Tuesday, December 18

• At 7:31 a.m. deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash on County Road 33 and County Road 27 just south of Altura. The vehicle was located on its roof after the driver had overcorrected while turning onto County Road 33 and ended up in the ditch of the opposite lane. The three occupants, one 15-year-old boy and two 17-year-old girls, were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

• At 8:56 a.m. deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash on Highway 14 near Stockton Hill. The driver, a 67-year-old Winona woman, reportedly lost control while traveling on a curve in the road and reportedly rolled the vehicle, ending up in the ditch. She was transported to Winona Health for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Wednesday, December 19

• At 11:19 p.m. deputies arrested Jay Patton Low, 47, of La Crescent, and referred him to the county attorney for potential charges of domestic assault causing fear, making terroristic threats, and reckless discharge of a firearm after he allegedly lunged onto a woman’s car, threatened her with a gun, and shot a hole in the ceiling of a home on Old Mill Road in La Crescent.

Monday, December 17

• At 8:28 a.m. officers responded to a one-vehicle crash on Highway 14 just east of Seminary Drive. The driver, a 73-year-old Winona woman, reportedly lost control of her vehicle on a frosty curve and struck a guardrail. She was transferred to Gundersen Health Systems in La Crosse for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
