Winona Police

Friday, December 28

• At 10:44 a.m. a Winona woman reported that an iPad with a value of $1,000 was stolen from her van on Walnut and Third streets the day prior.

• At 12:04 p.m. police cited Basil T. Thorson, 73, of Trempealeau, Wis., with disobeying a traffic light after allegedly running a red light and hitting another vehicle on Sarnia and Huff streets.

Saturday, December 29

• At 1:55 a.m. police arrested Hank Thomas Pernu, 33, of Plainview, Minn., and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of violating a harassment restraining order after Pernu was allegedly found at the residence of the individual who held the order.

• At 8:11 p.m. police referred Thomas Edward McGann to the county attorney for a potential charge of fifth-degree possession of morphine after police arrested him on an outstanding warrant and reportedly discovered a small baggie on his person containing two morphine pills.

• At 8:17 p.m. police arrested Wilma Jean Shines, 51, of Winona, and referred her to the county attorney for potential charges of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, making terroristic threats and domestic assault causing harm after she allegedly struck a woman in the head with a glass candlestick. As she was arrested, she reportedly told officers that she was going to contact her sons and have them kill the victim.

Sunday, December 30

• At 11:05 a.m. a Winona man reported someone broke a window of his vehicle on the 110 block of Johnson Street and stole items from inside.

• At 2:04 p.m. a Winona woman reported damage to her vehicle from a thrown brick on the 120 block of West Second Street.

• At 2:09 p.m. a Winona woman reported damage to the passenger side of her vehicle on the 110 block of Sugar Loaf Road.

• At 4:48 p.m. police cited Lindsey Brianne Sommer, 34, of Winona, with trespassing at Walmart.

• At 11:33 p.m. a Winona man reported that sometime between December 25 and the time of the call an individual had broken into his home on the 50 block of Lennox Street and stolen a Sentry safe and all of its contents.

• At 11:35 p.m. a Winona woman reported damage to the rear door of her home on the 620 block of East Seventh Street.

Monday, December 31

• At 1:05 a.m. police arrested Chase Edward Nottestad, 23, of Westby, Wis., and referred him to the county attorney for a potential charge of third-degree driving while intoxicated after he was stopped for having an object hanging from his rearview mirror. He reportedly had a blood-alcohol content measured at .16 percent.

Friday, December 28

• At 10:09 a.m. deputies arrested Katrina Michelle Cuaquehua, 22, of Stockton, and referred her to the county attorney for a potential charge of domestic assault causing harm after deputies received a call that she had punched an individual in the head.

Saturday, December 29

• At 3:27 a.m. deputies cited Angela Marie Stone, 29, of Winona, with driving while intoxicated after receiving an anonymous call that Stone was allegedly sitting parked inside a running vehicle on Laird and Seventh streets. Her blood-alcohol content was reportedly measured at .07 percent.
